Komplete Safety uses a custom Cynetix solution to power their e-commerce outlet.

Requirements:

Komplete Safety sells a range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to large companies within the UK as well as to the public at large. Recently under new directorship, Komplete’s goal was to update their current static website so it would integrate with their accounts package and allow them to offer on-line purchasing. Komplete approached Cynetix to help them achieve this.

Solution:

Through the requirements elicitation process, it was discovered that not only could Cynetix help update the current static website but could also help streamline other processes such as the processing of maintenance records and automated order processing / catalogue exporting for larger clients. With the requirements in place, Cynetix then spent a short time evaluating the latest PHP5 / MySQL5 combination for stability and suitability – suitability both as a development platform and as a cost effective product. After this combination passed performance and reliability tests, Cynetix proceeded to develop the product whilst maintaining close contact with Komplete as to progress and features.

During the development, Cynetix used our in-house design department to take the corporate look and feel provided by Komplete Safety’s designers and adapt it for use on the website. Stylesheets throughout the website ensured a consistent design as well as adhering to current marketing material guidelines and keeping Komplete’s look and feel. Cynetix also spent time as Komplete Safety’s clients’ sites ensuring that all their processes they currently had for placing orders would either continue the same or be improved. In addition, Cynetix liaised with current suppliers to produce collages suitable for ‘Hero’ image use where necessary. Integration with their accounts package was achieved and all the product content of the website site is mirrored from the details in their accounts package. This means there’s no separate interface for duplicate entry of products, pricing etc.

At the end of the development process Cynetix provided a final site for sign off and approval. Accompanying the site was usage documentation - from uploading of new images to how to handle failed credit card payments. Komplete Safety now run their external site http://www.kompletesafety.com for customers to place orders and their own internal site which alerts them on everything from possible discrepancies on orders to when maintenance is due on the many items they provide yearly support for. Their intranet page has now become their main Internet Explorer web page and provides them all the information they need along with pertinent links to external websites.
